COMPETITION ROUNDS
The competition is organized through 3 rounds with content specified as follows:
Qualifying Round
Online
Content:
Each team member will take an individual multiple-choice test on STEM knowledge and thinking on the organizers' online platform.
Duration:
Test duration: 30 minutes for Primary level (20 questions) and 45 minutes for Secondary & High School levels (30 questions)
Scoring:
Team score is the highest individual test score from any team member
Semi-final Round
In-person at Hanoi National University of Education
Content:
Teams that pass the Qualifying Round will complete their STEM products at home according to their registered proposals, ensuring adherence to the competition theme. Each team will bring their product for display, presentation, and direct Q&A with the Judging Panel.
Requirements:
Products must be prepared at home with costs not exceeding 1,000,000 VND; Use of recycled materials, energy-saving solutions, environmental friendliness and high efficiency are encouraged; Products must demonstrate practical problem-solving capabilities and align with the competition theme.
Scoring:
Based on criteria: creativity, applicability, efficiency and cost-effectiveness, presentation quality, and team's ability to defend their work according to the organizers' scoring rubric.
Final Round
Live competition at Hanoi National University of Education
Content:
The most outstanding teams from the Semi-final will participate in a rapid creativity challenge. The organizers will present an open-ended problem related to real-world situations and provide basic materials. Teams have limited time (expected 60 minutes) to create products/models and prepare presentations.
Special Rules:
Each team has a total of 10 minutes to use "Coach Support Rights" (consulting with supervising teacher), monitored by proctors and can be divided into multiple sessions during the competition.
Scoring:
Based on creativity, situational responsiveness, model quality, and presentation-defense skills of the competing teams.
